When your router, internet provider, or WiFi password changes, the printer still remembers the old network and cannot connect. The fix is to reset the printer's WiFi and run setup again through the Rollo app.
Reset the printer and reconnect
1. Move the printer within 10 to 15 feet of the new router while you set it up. You can move it back afterward.
2. Press the slim WiFi LED button 10 times rapidly, using a fingernail. It is the small button next to the WiFi light and makes a clicking sound. Do not use the round R button on top of the printer (that button feeds and calibrates labels).
3. The WiFi light flashes purple and yellow, the printer prints a Welcome page, and the light settles on solid white. The old network is now erased.
4. On your phone, open Bluetooth settings. Find the Rollo printer (or a device name starting with "sama--") and tap Forget This Device.
5. Make sure your phone is connected to the new WiFi network.
6. Open the Rollo app. Tap the menu button (three lines, top left), then Rollo Printer, then Setup Printer, and follow the on-screen instructions.
7. Choose your new network and enter the new password. The WiFi light turns solid blue when the printer is connected. Print a test label from rollo.com/sample to confirm.
If the printer will not connect to the new network
1. An "invalid password" error usually means a weak signal, not a wrong password. Move the printer closer to the router and try again.
2. Power cycle everything, and do not skip a device:
1. Turn the printer off with the switch at the back.
2. Unplug the power adapter from the wall and wait until the green light on the adapter goes out (2 to 3 minutes).
3. Unplug your router for 2 to 3 minutes, then plug it back in.
4. Restart your phone and computer.
5. Plug the printer back in and turn it on, then run setup again.
3. Avoid guest networks. Connect the printer to your main network, the same one your devices use.
4. To test whether the new router is the problem, turn on your phone's mobile hotspot, connect your other device to it, reset the printer, and run setup using the hotspot network. If the printer connects to the hotspot but not your router, check your router's security settings or contact your internet provider.
Update your other devices after reconnecting
Windows
1. Your computer usually finds the printer again once the computer joins the new network. If printing fails, go to Control Panel, then Devices and Printers, remove the old Rollo entry, and click Add a printer to add it again.
2. If the printer does not appear, add it manually by hostname or IPV4: Make sure to load 4x6 labels on the printer and print a network test page (press and hold the WiFi LED button for 2 to 3 seconds until green flashes, then let go, Note the hostname or IPV4 address on the test page. You can also find it in the Rollo app under Menu, Rollo Printer, Default Rollo Printer, Other Settings, Network),Download and install the Rollo driver from rollo.com/driver-dl/Rollo-Windows-Latest.zip. Open the downloaded file, run the installer, and click Yes if Windows asks for permission, then in Add a printer choose "The printer that I want isn't listed," Choose "Add a printer using an IP address or hostname," then Next, Set Device type to Autodetect, enter the hostname or IP address, and click Next, just click on next once you have the page "Additional port information required".When asked for a driver, choose Rollo and the driver you installed, keep the currently installed driver, then click Next and Finish. Print a test label from rollo.com/sample.
Mac
1. Connect the Mac to the new network.
2. If printing fails, open Printers and Scanners, remove the old Rollo entry, click the plus (+) button, select the Rollo printer, and add it manually by IPV4: Make sure to load 4x6 labels on the printer and print a network test page (press and hold the WiFi LED button for 2 to 3 seconds until green flashes, then let go, Note the IPV4 address on the test page. You can also find it in the Rollo app under Menu, Rollo Printer, Default Rollo Printer, Other Settings, Network)
3. Go to Printers & Scanners, and click Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax. Choose the IP tab (globe icon), Choose AirPrint as the protocol, then click Add.
iPhone, iPad, and Android
1. Reconnecting through the Rollo app (steps above) is all you need. Just make sure your phone or tablet is on the same new network as the printer before printing.
