Rollo Ship per-label fees explained (US and Canada)

Rollo Ship charges a small per-label service fee starting with the 201st label (shipment) you create. This is not a monthly subscription.

Your first 200 labels have a $0 service fee, but you still pay carrier postage.

After that, the fee is 5¢ at Newbie and Basic, 3¢ at Pro, 2¢ at Expert, and 1¢ at VIP.
US accounts pay in USD and Canadian accounts in CAD.

What is the Rollo Ship per-label fee?

The per-label fee is Rollo Ship's service fee for each shipping label you generate. It is separate from postage, which goes to the carrier. Creating an account, connecting stores, and comparing rates cost nothing. The fee applies to every label you buy, with any carrier, and comes out of your Rollo Ship Wallet with the postage. The label fee is $0/label for 200 labels, then goes down to 1¢ with Rollo Rewards.

Rollo Ship is not a carrier. It is a free multi-carrier shipping platform for the US and Canada. You compare USPS, UPS®, and FedEx in one US account (USPS and UPS are built-in, FedEx is connect your own account). In Canada, compare Canada Post and UPS as built-in carriers + Purolator and FedEx rates if you connect your own accounts. Then buy the label you want. There is no monthly plan and no sign-up fee.

How much is the per-label fee at each Rollo Rewards tier?

After your first 200 labels, the fee follows your Rollo Rewards level.
Newbie and Basic pay 5¢ per label.
Pro pays 3¢, Expert pays 2¢, and VIP pays 1¢.
You reach a tier by total points or by shipment count in the last 90 days, whichever comes first.
Rollo Reward Levels Newbie and Basic are lifetime, once reached, you can only build up.
To reach Basic from Newbie level, you need 10 shipments or 150 points. 10 shipments equal 10 waived service label fees. So you are left with 190 no-fee labels by the time you reach Basic Level.

Are the first 200 labels free?

No. Your first 200 labels have a $0 service fee, but postage is not free. You still pay the carrier for every one of those labels. The 200-label allowance is one time per account. It does not reset each month. From label 201, the service fee for your current Rewards tier applies.

Why does Newbie show 5¢ if my first labels cost $0 in fees?

The $0 comes from the 200-label allowance, not from the Newbie tier. Every new account starts at Newbie, and your first 200 labels have a $0 service fee at any tier. Newbie and Basic both pay 5¢, so the first service fee most shippers pay is 5¢, or less if they have already reached Pro.

Many shippers reach Basic early, at 150 points or 10 shipments. If you ship 120 or more labels in 90 days, you may already be at Pro, and your first paid fee is 3¢. Your current tier shows in your Rollo Ship dashboard.

What do I pay when I buy a label?

Each label has two parts. Carrier postage goes to the carrier for the service you choose.  The majority of carrier rates are discounted in Rollo Ship, with some reaching up to 90% off retail rates.

Since FedEx and Purolator are connect your own account, the discounts are your personal negotiated rates.

The Rollo Ship service fee goes to Rollo, and it is $0 for your first 200 labels. Both come out of your prepaid Rollo Ship Wallet when you buy the label. Comparing rates first costs nothing.

Does the per-label fee work the same in the US and Canada?

Yes, with one difference: currency. US accounts pay the service fee in USD, and Canadian accounts pay it in CAD. Both use the same 200-label allowance and the same 5¢, 3¢, 2¢, and 1¢ ladder. US shippers compare USPS, UPS®, and FedEx. Canadian shippers compare Canada Post, UPS®, FedEx, and Purolator.

Built-in carriers do not need a carrier website account. FedEx and Purolator are connect-your-own: you link the account you already have and see your own account's rates, with no Rollo discount. The per-label service fee still applies to FedEx and Purolator labels you buy in Rollo Ship, the same as for built-in carriers.

How do I lower my per-label fee?

Move up a Rollo Rewards tier. Rewards is built into every Rollo Ship account, so there is nothing to sign up for. You earn points by shipping, funding your wallet, and earning badges. ACH bank transfer earns 3 points per dollar funded, and a card earns 1 point per dollar. Shipment count also moves you up.

  • Your tier uses a rolling 90-day window of activity.
  • Points do not expire.
  • If your points fall below your tier, you get a 10-day grace period before your tier changes.
  • Track your tier and progress in your Rollo Ship dashboard.

How much are service fees on 100 labels?

After your first 200 labels, 100 more labels cost $5.00 in service fees at Newbie or Basic, $3.00 at Pro, $2.00 at Expert, and $1.00 at VIP.
US accounts pay in USD and Canadian accounts pay in CAD. These are service fees only.
Carrier postage is extra on every label.

Per-label fee FAQ

Does postage count toward the first 200 labels?

No. The 200-label allowance only covers the Rollo Ship service fee. You still pay carrier postage on each of your first 200 labels. The allowance is one time per account and does not reset each month. From label 201, your current tier's service fee applies.

Do I pay anything to compare rates?

No. Creating a Rollo Ship account, connecting stores, and comparing carrier rates are free. You do not need a card to start. Open a free account, create stores, or compare rates for free. You pay postage and any service fee only when you buy a label, from your prepaid Rollo Ship Wallet funded by card or ACH bank transfer.

Is there a monthly fee for Rollo Ship?

No. Rollo Ship has no monthly subscription and no sign-up fee in the US or Canada. You pay carrier postage for each label you buy. After your first 200 labels, a per-label service fee from 5¢ down to 1¢ applies by Rollo Rewards tier, in USD for US accounts and CAD for Canadian accounts.

Is the service fee charged in USD or CAD?

US accounts pay the Rollo Ship service fee in USD, and Canadian accounts pay it in CAD. The cents ladder is the same in both countries: 5¢ at Newbie and Basic, 3¢ at Pro, 2¢ at Expert, and 1¢ at VIP, after your first 200 labels with a $0 service fee.

Do FedEx and Purolator labels have a service fee?

Yes. The per-label service fee applies to FedEx and Purolator labels you buy in Rollo Ship, just like built-in carriers. FedEx and Purolator are connect-your-own: you link your existing account and see your own rates, with no Rollo discount. Your first 200 labels still have a $0 service fee.

How fast can I reach a lower fee?

You can level up by points or by shipment count in the last 90 days, whichever comes first. For example, Pro starts at 1,500 points or 120 shipments, and its fee is 3¢ per label. Funding by ACH bank transfer earns 3 points per dollar, which helps you move up faster.
